Ferrocenyl Thtosemicarbazones and Their Transition Metal Complexes

Two new ligands, l-acetoacetyl-ferrocene-4-phenylthiosemicarba-zone, Fc(CO)CH2C(CH3) = N-NHCSNHPh (HAafpt), 1-acetoacetylfer-rocene-4-(#x3B1;-naphthyl)thiosemicarbazone, Fc(CO)CH2C(CH3) = NNHCS-NHC10H7(H2Aafnt) and their transition metal(II) complexes have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivities, magnetic moment, IR, PMR, UV and thermal analyses. It is shown that the ligands HAafpt and H2Aafnt coordinate to the central ions in different forms and we suggest their plausible structure.
