Neurophysiology of storage and voiding function

摘要

Normal micturition can be thought of in two phases, storage and filling. Recent advances in the understanding of the complex neurologic and physiologic basis of voiding have focused on the role of calcium and neuromodulators affecting contractility. This fertile area of research will potentially lead to agents that increase facilitatory pathways and decrease inhibitory pathways and have an impact on the management of patients with voiding dysfunction.
