In search of acidspar

Tightening availability of fluorspar and greater demand has helped producers raise prices over the past year and keep order books full. Total fluorspar production and consumption are now neck and neck at around 5m. tonnes. Acidspar prices are up almost 15 percent since the start of the year, having risen over 20 percent already in 2005. Whilst this is not a bad thing for producers, what is frustrating perhaps in such a strong market is that the industry is already operating at 90 percent capacity with limited ability to expand.
