Demand for bentonite needed to lubricate the drilling muds is inextricably linked to drilling activity across the oil and gas producing provinces.Also used in civil engineering,bentonite for drilling fluids accounts for around 25% of world bentonite demand.Some 80% of this valume is used in oilfields.
