Tremolite in NYCO's wollastonite?

Low levels of an asbestiform mineral (tremolite) may be in some of NYCO Minerals Inc.'s wollastonite products. The wollastonite was produced from one of several ore sources supplying the Willsboro, New York operations, and the asbestos was detected via routine sampling. Although tremolite levels are low (less than 0.1 percent), the Canadian Federal Hazardous Products Act dictates its presence must be disclosed in a material safety data sheet. Therefore, NYCO is in the process of contacting all of its Canadian customers who may have received such products to advise them on the situation. NYCO will also be providing its customers with an updated material safety data sheet, and testing will continue to determine the duration and extent of the notification.
