摘要

DEAD burned magnesia (DBM), sintered magnesia, or magnesia clinker, are synonymous terms that may either apply to synthetically produced magnesia from seawater or brines, hence the use of the terms 'seawater magnesia' and 'brines magnesia', or to products resulting from processing magnesium carbonate deposits, referred to as 'natural dead burned magnesia'. There ore certain fundamental aspects which characterise the quality of magnesia, whether the products are the result of a chemical process (i.e. synthetic magnesias), or natural magnesias. Purity of above 97 percent MgO is generally a characteristic of high-grade magnesias. However; this alone does not suffice. Bulk density threshold of 3.40 g/cm~3 is considered the minimum for high-grade magnesia to be used in brick making.
