Shandong Magnesite

As host to some 80 percent of the world's magnesite, China is one of the leading producers and as such has become very influential in the global supply market for magnesite and its subsequent products: dead burned magnesia (DBM), caustic calcined magnesia, and fused magnesia. China produces about 12m. tpa of crude magnesite from some 500 operations. About 1.8m. tpa DBM is produced in China, and about 1.6m. tpa is exported. There are perhaps 20 key DBM producers in China producing 60-550,000 tpa DBM.
