A world of mineral statistics

THE LATEST BATCH of publications from the British Geological Survey (BGS) arrive at a time of unprecedented demand for minerals. The five new handbooks are derived from the World Mineral Statistics database and offer impartial, detailed production and commodity statistics for the region of focus. World Mineral Production 2001-2005 covers the majority of economically important minerals from alumina to zirconium. The clear design of the handbook allows the reader quick, easy access to production figures for the regions: Europe; Africa; North and Central America, including the Caribbean; South America; Asia; and, Australasia, including the Pacific Islands.
