Exporters and overseas consumers of Chinese minerals were dealt a further blow in November with the Chinese government's latest move to discourage exports. An export tariff of 10 percent has been placed on certain industrial minerals, amongst other exported commodities, and there are signs that it will not end there (see News at Core p. 6 and main feature p. 26).
