Wallboard price dulls BPB

British-based BPB, the world's leading wallboard producer, said that difficult market conditions in Germany and the USA have had a negative impact on its first half results.US wallboard prices hit a nadir of 60 dollars per 1,000 ft~2 in July, half their value a year ago. Prices have since bounced back with increases raising selling prices by about 30 percent, said the company.Wallboard volumes are expected to have increased around 15 percent in the first half due to acquisitions in Europe and North America, or 3 percent on a like-for-like basis, as group turnover increases 10 percent to almost 850m pounds.
