So-called "mystery histories", otherwise known as mineral development projects with a novel or unusual story to tell, are successfully bagging shareholder cash ahead of more advanced projects. Speaking at the IM Graphite and Graphene Conference 2013 in New York in November, a panel of financial experts said that while savvy investors look for proven resources, robust economics and a strong potential customer base, novelty can occasionally outweigh hard numbers for a certain type of speculator.
