Fertile future for sulphur & bentonite

TIGER-SUL PRODUCTS (Canada) Co., part of the Tiger-Sul group and subsidiary of H. J. Baker & Bro Inc., has created a new type of rotoformed fertiliser pastille containing bentonite and sulphur, marketed as Tiger 90CR. Globally Tiger-Sul is the largest producer of bentonite sulphur fertiliser and soil amendment, which the company initially developed in the 1980s. Sulphur is one of the four micronutrients required for life; however it is estimated that globally there is a 10m. tpa deficit of this crucial element. This deficit has risen steadily, awing to the clean up of industrial emissions over recent decades (namely those originating from coal fired power stations), which has drastically reduced the release of sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere.
