Australia's Aurox Resources Ltd plans to produce ilmenite as a by-product of iron ore processing (titanomagnetite) at its Balla Balla mine near Whim Creek, in Pilbara, Western Australia. The Balla Balla deposit is said to be a world-class titanomagnetite orebody and the Perth-based company is targeting a capacity of 300,000 tpa of ilmenite concentrate grading 45% TiO_2, increasing to 470,000 tpa after the project is expanded.
