Speckle reduction using higher order harmonic images: development of the probe with transmitting and receiving transducers

摘要

To reduce the speckle noise appeared in ultrasonic echographic image, we have been proposed the method using higher order harmonic component in echoes, which is generated by nonlinear acoustic phenomenon. This study describes the feasibility of the proposed method by using the probe with separating the transmitting and receiving transducers. In the experiments ninth higher order harmonic components can be measured and then the reduction of speckle noised is successfully performed by summation of series of the intensity images from fundamental component to seventh or ninth order harmonic component.
