Bollore-Eramet lithium development partnership with Bolivia

ERAMET, A METALS focused French group, has entered into a partnership with French investment consortium the Bollore Group for the mining and conversion of lithium [Li] for electric battery manufacturing, as part of its development in new minerals with high growth potential. According to Eramet, both French groups are looking into possible development notably in Bolivia. It comes as the country is seeking investments to jump start the world's largest Li resource, the Salar del Uyuni, and France is leading the pack of interested parties (see IM March '09: Li at first sight).
