AC Drives: Harmonics Reduction Technology

Buildings contain numerous motors that operate fans to circulate heated or cooled air for ventilation. Also, motors operate pumps that circulate heated and chilled water used to heat or cool the air circulating throughout a building. Variable frequency drives provide motor operation and speed control for the AC motor and offer advantages such as energy savings, reduced wear and tear on mechanical systems, and better control of air speed, temperature and occupant comfort.
