Tamil Nadu, with a Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of about Rs. 2.2 trillion in 2006, is one of the most vibrant States in India. The cumulative Foreing Direct Investment (FDI) approvals in the State between 1999 and 2005 stood at Rs. 106.9 billions. This accounts for 11.1% of the total FDI in the country, making the State an attractive investment destination. The State is also fast emerging as the favorite destination for Auto; ICT and aero space industries. Tamil Nadu is all set to exceed the National average in growth rates. The general life style of growing middle class too is changing rapidly to include several power consuming life style products.
