Australia's kaolin rush

Asian kaolin markets spur exploration and development of Australian kaolin deposits. With several contenders in the pipeline, IM examines who might be ahead of the pack. AUSTRALIA EXPORTS SOME 200,000 tpa kaolin at present. This is expected to significantly increase over the next few years as several developers look to bring on stream their projects. Yet another player has emerged with hopes to pursue export markets for kaolin: gold developer Mutiny Gold is evaluating the potential of developing a kaolin co-product at its White Well Gold Project in Western Australia (see "New Australian kaolin prospect" - IM Online News 26 May 2009).
