A NEW PLANT'S renewable diesel

The new biorefinery produces the BioVerno traffic fuel from tall oil,a residue of pulp production,at Kaukaa's plant area in Lappeenranta,Finland.The plant is the first biorefinery in the world to produce wood-based,renewable diesel.Its operations are based on a hydrotreatment process UPM developed in cooperation with its partners.The plant began commercial production in May 2015.UPM has made an agreement on selling BioVerno to NEOT(North European Oil Trade).NEOT-a wholesaler of oil products and biofuels operating in northern Europe-provides fuel for major Finnish service station chains,such as ABC and Stl.The product will become available to Finnish consumers this spring.
