The countdown to the next REACH deadline of 31 May is underway. REACH is the European Union (EU) regulation on chemicals and their safe use, which came into force on 1 June 2007. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The regulation's provisions, which are designed to improve the safety of chemical use throughout the supply chain, are being phased in over an 11-year period.
