Saudi Arabia's Adwan Chemical doubles silica sand capacity

Adwan Chemical Industries Co. (ACIC), one of the leading suppliers of silica sand in Saudi Arabia, announced in October that it had doubled the capacity of its silica sand operations this year in a response to sharp global demand for its products. A spokesperson from the company told IM that this year ACIC has doubled its capacity of a reported 200,000 tonnes as a direct consequence of surging market demand especially for foundry, fibreglass and paint applications both for export and domestic markets.
