A simple design method in initial design stage for frame vibration reduction

In order to assist the design engineers in considering their idea in the conceptual design stage, the strength of material calculation and the simplified analysis with beam elements are still useful. Authors have produced a simple design tool based on the above concept experimentally. The basic ideas include (1) graphic interfaces, (2) use of sophisticated formulations based on the theory of mechanics of material, (3) the topology optimization method. In this paper, this simple design method is applied to the reduction of sub-frame vibration in the initial design stage. As a result, the effectiveness of this method has been confirmed.
