摘要

The writer in this part narrates as to how the Chinese teamakers became absorbed as a part of Indian population and took the initiative in teaching the Chinese method of manufacturing black tea at Darjeeling. He has quoted Robert Fortune's description in order to present a vivid picture of the process of tea manufacture in the 1850s and 1860s. Obviously, the primitive method of tea manufacture has also come in course of his narration.
