Wanted specific agenda for national convention

The Second National Convention on South Indian Teas will be held from 26 to 28 August as a sequel to the First Convention held in Coimbatore in November 2000 and the subsequent upcountry delegations sponsored by the Tea Board. This time, the buyers would be taken to the tea estates in the Nilgiris, Munnar and Valparai to give them a direct feel of the teas. Then, the main Convention will be held on Aug 28 at Howard Johnson Monarch Hotel in Ooty. The tea trade associations of Coonoor, Coimbatore andKochi as also the UPASI and the Nilgiris Bought Leaf Tea Manufacturers Association are holding the convention jointly with the Tea Board. The Convention would afford an opportunity for a closer buyerseller interaction. The Tea Board is sponsoring the visit of 100 delegates, but the industry is expected to bring in another 150 delegates.
