Following the broadcasting success of the Beijing Olympics, the Chinese broadcasting equipment market is on a growth path in the shift to digital formats, high-definition (HD) viewing and more advanced information technology. The future of broadcasting in the wake of the Olympics was fully on display at the 17th Beijing International Radio, TV Film Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV 2008), held from November 5 to 8 in Beijing, China. The event drew 403 exhibiting companies and about 50,000 visitors.
