The life sciences arguably represent the next evolution—one that will deeply impact lives and further society. Regions around the world are vying to establish and expand their life science clusters. Innovation-driven economies create knowledge-basedemployment opportunities and deeper tax-revenue bases, and contribute to a generally higher standard of living. Success, however, rides on the strength of a region's research, commercialization, investment, and regulatory capabilities.
