Tocklai Extension Services to the Tea Industry in Knowledge Management : The Beginning, Present Status and Challenges

Quarterly Advisory Bulletins published and circulated for four quarters of every year is a very important function of the Advisory Department. In the beginning of every quarter starting from January each year, Advisory Branches located in various areas publish and circulate bulletin to all the member tea estates. It contains the major field operations to be undertaken in the next three months and acts as a ready reference. The Quarterly Advisory Bulletin contains package of practices on the operationto be carried out and likely problems in plantation which may arise during the period. Special bulletins are circulated in case natural calamities or emergency situation like drought, flood, hail storm, sudden or serious outbreak of pest and disease, etc.
