Tea Industry is a unique enterprise in the socio-economic milieu of India in ways more than one. It not only contributes substantially to national exchequer and earns huge foreign exchange (Rs. 1191 crore in 1995) for the country, but more than anything else, the saga of tea over a century is inextricably interwined with the emergence of a new era of interpersonal ethics and culture in the country - the tea culture.
