My earliest recollection of the fascinating sport of fishing is of myself, at that time little more than a toddler, together with two brothers a year or two older than myself, all three proudly carrying a little switch apiece, to the tip of which wasappended a length of thick cotton thread with a bent pin hanging at the extremity, on which was threaded a small portion of tiny pink worm, and standing on the brink of a, shallow stream which flowed, between steep sloping banks from a glistening waterfall a few feet high forming an artistic overflow from an. adjoining "pond," or artificial lake not far from the Country house in which we lucky youngsters lived.
