Fifteen years after the WTO coming into operation and some 153 countries becoming its members, tea industry has no choice but to learn the nuances of working with the intricacies connected with the WTO. With the removal of quantitative restrictions, international tea trade is no longer the same in the new millennium. Present managers cannot succeed doing business the same way their forefathers did and instances of Governments failing to accord protection to indigenous industry have surfaced in many tea producing countries.
