R. N. Chatterjee, ex-Technical Manager of Andrew Yule & Co. Ltd, Port Engineering Works, Howrah, under whose expertise and able-guidance the Commercial Model of McTear Rotorvane, B.L.C. Ball Breaker and Aerator, other equipments ancillary to Rotorvaneand the Disc Roller of 48" size were designed, developed and manufactured, has narrated in the article of this issue, why Rotorvane-CTC Machine became popular. In this narration he has also highlighted the problems faced owing to sub-standard plucking of tea leaves, the coming of Shizuoka--Electric Tea Stalk and Fibre Separator--its replacement by a more simple machine known as Vibro Fibre Extractor, and the introduction of Cone Attachment with the Rotorvane in 1968.
