A study of some variability in cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerataL.)

The variability in spread and sparseness of flowering of #x2018;Grasslands Apanui#x2019; (Dactylis glomerataL.) was studied. A successful selection was made for improved vegetative vigour and reproductive characters, but with no change in mean emergence date. There was, however, evidence in some advanced generations of a shift towards lateness, which was significant (P 0.5) in a basic seed generation line.
