Prothioconazole the active ingredient in Proline has been developed as a foliar applied fungicide for the control of cereal diseases, including Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) and for the reduction of harmful levels of mycotoxins in grain. FHB efficacy andmycotoxin deoxynivalenol data is reviewed from eight inoculated field trials from 2002-07, comparing a range of commercially available fungicides treatments. Prothioconazole gave effective suppression of FHB disease symptoms and mycotoxin reduction. Useof prothioconazole as part of a mycotoxin minimization strategy is discussed.
