Vibratory refractory installation system increases productivity for coreless induction furnaces

In this article, based on a presentation at CastExpo '99, sponsored by the American Foundrymen's Society, March 13-16, 1999, in St. Louis, Missouri, the results of a five-year study on the use of a vibratory refractory installation system forrelining of coreless induction furnaces are described. Overall, lining life increased an average of 42%, while workforce reductions averaged 67%. The system was shown to be more effective and reliable than conventional refractory installation techniques.
