Optical fiber parametric amplifiers have many attractive potential features, such as optical amplification with wide bandwidth and low noise, frequency conversion with gain, and a new source for entangled photon pairs in quantum optics. At present stage, there are also many disadvantages such as polarization dependence of parametric gain, very large gain-saturation. These issues are expected to be improved near future. In this report, we discuss on measurements and analysis of polarization dependent gain saturations of an optical fiber parametric amplifier. Negligible gain saturation was observed for signal polarization state perpendicular to pump wave, contradictory large parallel gain saturation. These saturation characteristics are well simulated by the coupled nonlinear equations. However, in the stronger saturation region, asymmetric gain saturation respect to the pump frequency is observed and simulation fails in this region.
