Weed control efficiency of butachlor at 2.0 and 1.0 kg ha~(-1) was 80.7 and 75.6 percent, respectively. Green fodder and dry matter yields of berseem increased significantly with butachlor. The highest green fodder and dry matter yields were obtainedwith butachlor at 2.0 kg ha~(-1). Trifluralin at 0.6 and 1.2 kg ha~(-1) had toxic effects on berseem which resulted in poor crop yield. Crude protein content of berseem was improved due to weed control over weedy check.
