摘要

Multilayers composed of Ni-Fe and amorphous Si interlayers were prepared in order to improve soft magnetic properties and surface smoothness and reduce media noise originated from the domain walls in the soft magnetic backlayer. The surface magnetic structure, like stripe domains, of the soft magnetic backlayer was restrained. Excellent c-axis orientations as well as a high perpendicular coercivity of Co-Cr-Ta recording layer were attained. It was revealed that Ni-Fe/Si{sub}n multiplayer was suitable for improving the characteristic of backlayer.
