Apparent Intrathoracic Spleen Associated With Marked Scoliosis

A 73-year-old woman with a history of mitral regurgitation underwent a MUGA scan for evaluation of left ventricular function. The spleen is displaced superior to the left ventricle in an apparent intrathoracic location. A subsequent bone scan revealed that these relationships are due to severe kyphoscoliosis with elevation of the left hemidiaphragm.
