John Shockley from Califor-nia reports on the Dare De-signs Piper PA-16 designed by Bill Schmidt. He liked the de-sign so much he has purchased the other four kits in the line (Cessna 140, Interstate Cadet, Porterfield CP-65 and Taylorcraft BC-12), He modified the Piper into a PA-20 Pacer. Mods include wider scale tires, wheel pants, planked engine cowl, pilot, scale tail wheel side fuselage stringers, wing and tail running lights and scale silk thread bracing wires. The completed model weighs 38.6 grams with fly-ing prop and without rubber. John says the kit supplied tissue was very good and was finished with Krylon flat clear. Red aero gloss and semi-gloss Cub yellow for cowling, struts and landing gear finished the job. Balance was good without added weight and John will report on flight results.
