In summary, the installation of a concentrator on a typical heat treat inductor increases the inductance of the coil, and provides the magnetic field or lines of flux with a low reluctance path to the charge. Since the lines of flux are the means by which current is induced into the charge or work piece, less amperes in the coil results in more efficient coil and the higher inductance of coil results in less capacitance required to tune to resonance. Since capacitors are an additional form of circuit inefficiency, this also results in a more efficient system. The efficient transfer of energy from the power source to the load requires; (1) proper-load-matching to enable full power utilization; and (2) tuning to assure maximum heating benefits. Both are important and the methods for accomplishing each vary with different types of power sources and load-matching circuits.
