Houston—The US oil rig count rose by 11 to 758 last week, Baker Hughes said Friday, flying in the face of crude prices that over the past week sagged to their lowest level this year. The double-digit leap in domestic oil rigs— the product of drilling decisions made months ago—also runs counter to recent weeks where weekly gains slowed. Six rigs were added during the week ended June 16 and eight the previous week.
