An experience of application of a PDA-5017G spectrometer to rapid analysis of steel including determination of total and acid-soluble aluminum and nitrogen within the interval 0.0015-0.050 percent is considered. To evaluate the metrological parameters of PDA-5017G (Shimadzu) and SV-2000(Baird) spectrometers a comparative analysis of the indices of convergence, sensitivity and reproducibility of determination is performed for a number of elements. The calculated indices of accuracy for Ca, Zn, Sn, Pb, and Sb at a low content of the elements are presented.
