A method of testing for wear of a cast-iron-based metallofullerene composite, produced by explosive compaction technology and containing particles of diamond and diamond-like phase, is described. The wear tests are carried out in a scheme whereby a spinning cylindrical roller of hard alloy is brought in frictional contact with the flat surface of a test specimen under controlled loading conditions. The wear rate is evaluated by the area of wear pit on the specimen surface. A wear curve for the metallofullerene compact is obtained.
