Standard specimens for quantification of gas impurities in aluminum and titanium alloys-fabrication, certification, and applications

Fabrication, certification, and applications of standard specimens for practical analysis of gas impurities in aluminum and titanium alloys are discussed, and data on homogeneity and interlaboratory certification of standard specimens are given. Characteristics of state standard specimens (SSSs) for aluminum alloys with certified concentrations of hydrogen (appropriate developments available from the VILS) and for VT16 titanium alloys with certified concentrations of hydrogen and oxygen are given.
