Being concerned with environmental issues, researches from Inpa (National institute for Research in the Amazon) have found that fish leather powder can be used to manufacture paper, replacing wood pulp. That type of residue, usually discarded by the tanneries operating in the Amazon region, provides a more special paper, with a more rubbery texture that may even become impermeable, depending on the chemical products used to treat it.
