Pharmacological evaluation of single dose ceftriaxone in buffalo calves

Disposition kinetics of ceftriaxone (50 mg/kg) in buffalo calves following single dose iv and sc administration was studied. Plasma concentration time data were best fitted by two compartment open model following iv and by one compartment model following sc administration. Elimination half-lives were 2.16 and 2.55 h following iv and sc administration, respectively, while absorption half life (K_a) was 0.28 h following sc administration.
