Cases of cerebral babesiosis in dogs, caused by Babesia gibsoni were diagnosed and treated. The clinical manifestations included seizures, inco-ordination of movements, pyrexia (107°F in 3 cases), anorexia, vomiting and weakness. They were treated with phenobarbitone, diazepam, ketoprofen, ranitidine, DNS 5%, diminazine aceturate and doxycycline. One dog with severe tachypnoea and tachycardia received sodium bicarbonate @ 50 mg/kg b wt orally tid and lactated Ringer's solution also. Two dogs collapsed within 12 hr and one on 3rd day. Other two responded favourably.
