Tc-99m-Labeled Monoclonal Antibody Fragment Imaging in a Patient With Fever of Unknown Origin

Tc-99m MDP bone scanning showed cortical uptake in the left femur and tibia of a patient with fever of unknown origin. Tc-99m-labeled polyclonal human immunoglobulin scan showed uptake in the left calf. However, further imaging work-up with Tc-99m-labeled monoclonal antibody fragment (Leukoscan Immunomedics, Darmstadt) depicted an area of intense uptake and led to surgical exploration that yielded an inflammatory lesion involving a graft of the abdominal aorta and adjoining the large intestine
