China’s key Daqin railway line increased transported coal volumes sharply last month, as China maintained its relaxed working day limits at most domestic mines. The 653km line, which connects the major coal-producing provinces of Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and Shaanxi to transshipment hubs including Qinhuangdao port and Tianjin port in northeast China, transported 32.91mn t in April. This was up by 32pc from a year earlier.
