Modernization of steel slab reheating furnaces leads to improved productivity and thermal homogeneity

摘要

This article describes how the modification of two reheating furnaces at a European steel plate mill resulted in increased productivity and significant energy savings for the company. The analysis of an aerodynamic model of the burner jet flowpatterns resulted in more homogeneous temperaturedistributions within the furnaces.
